INVITATION TO OUR 55TH ANNIVERSARY WALT WHITMAN CLASS REUNION
Greetings Class of ’66. Go Vikings!
When: Saturday October 9, 2021, 6-10 pm
Where: Bethesda Marriott, 5151 Pooks Hill Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814
Why: Join us for good food and drinks! Catch up with your classmates!
Tickets are $100 per person, which covers dinner (a large multiple station meal with multiple choices, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, non-alcoholic drinks, service charges, and tax) as well as meeting rooms, event planner, decorations, web site, registration, etc. Hotel staff will prepare buffet plates without you having to serve yourself. Alcoholic drinks will be provided from the cash bar. Parking will be free for hotel guests and for Saturday evening event attendees on Oct. 9th. Casual attire.
How: Register using the following information:
1. Click on the link that says “Events and Registration.”
2. Registration is easy with a credit card. Click on “Purchase tickets here” at the bottom of the page. NOTE: The Classquest site has a fee of $6 total for credit card processing. Deadline to pay online is September 9, 2021. If you telephone your registration to Five Star Reunions, the credit card processing fee is only $4. Phone number is 240-439-3138. Deadline to pay by phone is October 4, 2021.
3. To avoid the extra fee, mail a check to:
Five Star Reunions P.O. Box 1336 Frederick, MD 21702. Make your check out to Five Star Reunions. INCLUDE the following information on a separate sheet:
a. Names of attendee and guest if any
b. Maiden name if applicable
c. Email
d. Phone
e. Put “WWHS” in the memo section of your check
f. All checks need to be received by September 25, 2021
4. Fill in as much information as you like in the “Classmates Register” tab. Fill in your email address as Username, and the system will email you a password so that you can edit your profile. The registration requires address and email, but it allows you to say if you are attending the reunion or not, and which parts of your contact information can be shared with others. It provides memo areas to write messages on your public Classmate page. It also has a field for writing more about your own life for a Directory Bio. That could potentially be used towards producing a memory book. It’s possible to register even if you are not attending in order to communicate with other classmates.
5. Discounted rooms are no longer available.
6. All Covid procedures as mandated by Montgomery County, MD will be followed. For everyone’s health and safety, please be vaccinated. You are responsible for your own health and for the health of those around you. We, on the reunion committee, take the Virus seriously, and we hope you do as well.
7. The hotel was nicely remodeled in 2016 and has multiple hand sanitizer stations on the ground floor. Entrance into the Congressional Ballroom meeting room area is gentle and easy from the parking lot if anyone has mobility issues. There will be no other meetings on the corridor we are using on October 9th. We will also have a meeting room across the hall from the banquet room to allow people to spread out.
*The committee is requiring that all CDC vaccination cards be brought to the reunion or a photo of it on your phone.
